Team Project 1 has unveiled a special livery for the #57 Porsche 911 RSR, which will be used for the upcoming two rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Circuit of the Americas and Sebring.
The usual black and yellow colours of the German outfit have been traded in for the distinctive purple and orange of car additive firm Wynn’s. Both Wynn’s Racing and Team Project 1 teased the livery change on Twitter before it was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon as the livery appeared on the official Lone Star Le Mans spotter guide and ultimately shown by the team itself on Thursday.
Keating, a Texas native, has had a close affiliation with the brand in recent years. The colour scheme first appeared in the 1980s, when it appeared on the Hotchkiss Racing Porsche 962. It then returned on Keating’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 during last year’s IMSA GTD campaign as part of IMSA’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
After that, it was featured on the first privately entered Ford GT with which Keating competed in the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Wynn’s logo was also seen on PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports’ ORECA 07-Gibson, which Keating raced during the Rolex 24 at Daytona last month.
Keating partners with Jeroen Bleekemolen and the returning Felipe Fraga, having won the previous round in Bahrain when Larry ten Voorde filled in for the Brazilian.
